1) HOW TO BECOME AN ARTISAN

Maths, Science, Trade Theory, another N2 Subject

Our courses are 32 weeks after which a student must do on-the-job-training before trade test can be considered.
3) REQUIREMENTS
For admission at the Nuclear Skills Development Centre a candidate must have the following qualifications:
Preferably Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (not maths literacy)

4) HOW TO ENROLL
All applications should be accompanied by a cover letter stating for which trade the application is.
All applications should be accompanied by a CV and certified copies of id and all qualifications obtained.
No money should accompany any application.
Applications can be faxed, posted or e-mailed.

5) ORIENTATION
All students commencing with training at NSD must go through an orientation program before they can get access to the premises of Necsa.

6) NSD TRAINING FEES Our training fees per person consist of the following:

All clients must complete a “Vendor registration” form in order to generate tax invoices.

8) ACCREDITATIONS
The Nuclear Skills Development Centre is accredited at the following Seta’s:

9) PRE-ASSESSMENT
Pre-assessment is an evaluation process used to place learners at the appropriate level and to determine the training requirements before a trade test can be done.
Students who wish to do a trade test must first undergo a pre-assessment or screening test before trade test can be done.
Students/companies who wish to know on what level the student is before an application for trade test can be generated.
Companies who wish to determine if a candidate is “work ready”.
The cost for pre-assessment is R912.00 for mechanical and fabrication and R456,00 for electrical and instrumentation (vat included).
10) TRADE TEST PREPARATION
The duration of trade test preparation depends on the outcome of the pre-assessment.
Trade test preparation is a process to “fill the gaps” before trade test is done.
Trade test preparation is not a “crush course” to prepare students who lack training.
Only applicants who already have a trade test date will be considered for trade test preparation.
Applicants must apply for trade test preparation and book a place.
The cost for trade test preparation is R400.00 (vat included) per person per day.
11) TRADE TEST
Trade test can be done at the decentralized trade test centre of Necsa (DTTC).
Only students who have applied through a Seta and received a date from the DTTC will be allowed to do trade test at Necsa.
The NSD DTTC is accredited to do trade tests for CHIETA and MERSETA.
