Dr Vuyo Mthethwa is a seasoned Human Resources professional with extensive experience across multiple industries. She previously founded and managed a strategic advisory service that supported organizational start‑ups, restructuring, incubation, and amalgamations. During her consultancy years, she was appointed to several interim executive portfolios within the organizations she supported.
Her governance experience spans the education, legal, scientific, and industrial research sectors, as well as a construction incubator. Within these sectors, she has chaired and served as an expert advisor on human resources committees.
Most recently, she has focused her strategic operational oversight within the higher education sector, demonstrating a strong passion for student governance and academic excellence.
Dr Mthethwa holds a PhD in Student Governance within Higher Education, a Master’s degree in industrial Labour Studies, and a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) from the University of KwaZulu‑Natal. She also obtained a Certificate in Labour Dispute Resolution Practice, which she passed cum laude, from Stellenbosch University.
