Nuclear Operations & Advanced Manufacturing
- The Engineering Services Department is established to provide engineering services and products, primarily to Necsa and its subsidiaries, as well as to other stakeholders in the nuclear industry (e.g. Koeberg Nuclear Power Station (KNP), etc.).
- Engineering Services focuses primarily on providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Service for the design and supply of structures, systems and components through the following engineering disciplines:
- Process Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- ontrol & Instrumentation
- Civil Engineering
- Configuration Management
- Process Engineering is a section of the Engineering
Services Department at Necsa. - The group focuses on the preparation of engineering
packages for processing facilities, primarily within
Necsa. - The processing facilities include those handling
hazardous chemical substances and nuclear materials, the latter requiring licensing from the
National Nuclear Regulator (NNR). - Process Engineering provides professional services during all engineering phases, from Pre-feasibility to the end of Basic Engineering Design.
- During Detailed Engineering Design, as well as Procurement and Construction phases, the group may perform a supporting function, or that of owner engineer.
- Process Engineering aims to deliver services of the
highest quality, taking into account all budget and schedule constraints, as well as all customer requirements.
We continuously strive to improve our Quality Management System. - Process Engineering designs according to the Necsa
SHEQ-INS requirements which incorporate the RD-0034 requirements defined by the NNR, as well as the OHSAct
and other legal requirements.
Process Engineering is situated on the Necsa site, Pelindaba approximately 20 km West of Pretoria (Church Street West Extension) in Building V-H1, first floor
Main services provided by Process Engineering include:
