Qhamkile Makhosi Boyede has over 20 years of experience, with a strong background in the financial services industry and management consulting across multiple sectors.
Makhosi previously served as BancABC’s Chief of Strategy and Business Enablers, where she managed Group Strategy, the Programme Management Office, Human Resources, Marketing and Corporate Communications, and Procurement across Botswana, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
She began her career as a Process Engineering Analyst at Nedbank Financial Services, followed by a role as a Strategy Analyst at Accenture Consulting. She later joined Absa Bank as an Internal Strategy Consultant and progressed to Associate Director for Strategy and Planning during a uniquely challenging integration within Absa Capital. She was subsequently seconded to Barclays Strategy and Planning in London. Makhosi advanced to become the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Absa Capital and served on its Executive Committee.
In addition, she served as the Executive responsible for Marketing and Corporate Communications, Corporate and Social Investment for Absa Capital, Absa Corporate, and Absa Wealth, as well as overseeing Procurement Management in Absa Capital. She also served as the Alternate Chair of the Human Capital Committee.
Prior to joining BancABC, she was a Group Executive at UBank, responsible for Corporate Strategy, the Programme Office, and Business Development. She served as a member of UBank’s Social and Ethics Board Committee and participated in various Exco governance subcommittees. She also chaired the Strategic Programme Office Steerco.
Makhosi holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
